Fortinet, Check Point Dive After Weaker Than Expected Earnings
Fortinet (FTNT) stock plunged nearly 18% early Wednesday after issuing weaker than expected earnings guidance late Tuesday. Fellow networking security vendor Check Point Software Technologies (CHKP) also posted a double-digit intraday loss after its own weak forecast Wednesday.
Security stocks had wavered ahead of third-quarter earnings season, with economic issues and slow PC sales leaving investors a little skittish.
