Have Google usernames and passwords been hacked or not?

I’ve seen contradictory reports on whether there has been a breach of Google passwords. This is very important to me – I use Google services for everything from my word processor to my calendar to my email. It’s the one account that I really can’t have compromised. Have Google accounts been compromised or not?
